This marks the 76th anniversary of ICU Day, a moment dedicated to honouring the enduring legacy of the credit union movement, highlighting its accomplishments, and recognising the role credit unions play in enriching the lives of their members.
Since its inception in 1948, ICU Day has been observed on the third Thursday of October. This yearβs theme,Β One World, underscores the integral part that credit unions play in fostering global solidarity through member-owned, cooperative financial systems. In an era where divisions seem to widen, this theme reinforces the credit union ethos of “people helping people” and their power to bring individuals and communities closer together.
